I get this question often  and I always advice to have a long time relationship with color instead of hooking up with it. By this I mean always think color based on your client's identity and where this brand should be in 2-3 years from the moment you start designing. Think community, think culture, think social contexts. The so called "trendy" colors are often 6 months palettes, good for digital media but not good for long lasting products. For interior, packaging and fashion we can not think in such short terms.

Let me share this color 2027 forecast for some far color thinking.

This 3-year forecast establishes the principal color innovations that will feed visionary creations. The world will evolve physically as well as digitally, with differing approaches for each medium. In this new phygital world, developing innovative color systems and strategies will be just as important as generating inspiring color palettes. Creatives will stop seeing color separately from form. 

On the other end of the color spectrum, color within the metaverse will continue to be a tool of creative expression and break boundaries. Synthetic color effects that exist in the digital realm will spur recreated simulations in real life for awe-inspiring experiences.

To cope with the dramatic shifts in society, technology, politics, industry and the environment, the need for mood-enhancing and wellness colors will increase. The power of color and its creative, curative properties will be sought after and appreciated.
