Analyzing global jewelry YoY sales we see that earrings and necklaces dominate S/S 24 drops over other categories. The reason? selfies! Earrings and necklaces are the most visible jewelry items in the frame of a selfie. Might sound surreal but digital content creation is shaping product assortment in ways we need to start understanding before we plan our product strategy.

Also statement pieces continue to grow in demand and customer attention. From festival jewelry to alien-like pieces this trend is influenced by synthetic creativity or content creating for social media. This trend also is quite inspiring from a material perspective since this theme explores notions of censorial, interactive and phygital design. From digital printing to light, candy-like resins, from coated metals to esoteric crystals. Go bold. Current social media content analysis show that people grow onto anti-perfectionist and anti-curated sentiments, as well as multiple aesthetic  identities and chaotic pairings in design. Focus on dressed-up jewels and include natural pearls. Add a vintage aesthetic to contemporary items by using decorative details and hardware inspired by different eras.
